  • Movement and Assessment

“If you don’t want to be like anyone else, don’t train like anyone else”.

The ability to move well is fundamental at JAB, and precedes all our strength, conditioning and body composition programs. Balance, stability, mobility, flexibility, biomechanics and co-ordination are all evaluated and addressed using Gray Cook’s Functional Movement Screen as implemented in the top sports and athletic facilities worldwide. This allows for your experience at JAB to be specific to you.

  • Performance

Athletes need balance, coordination, rhythm, timing, balance, flexibility, confidence and of course sport specific skill.

Conventional training methods that are solely focused on the maximum weight lifted do not adequately address the needs of ANY athlete.
Building a good foundation starts from the ground up. JAB utilizes the principles of the Marinovich Dynamic Integration system originally developed for use in the professional leagues of the NFL and NBA, to promote the involvement of the central nervous system in correct movement patterns.

  • STRENGTH

The need for strength and endurance in sports is now generally accepted.

Size matters, but bigger is not always better. The optimal power to weight ratio is important, as is the potential for direct transfer of the strength to sport specific performance and in injury prevention.
JAB utilizes free weights, modified strongman training, neurological training and metabolic training principles to develop all aspects of strength, be it for performance within the confines of a gym or for a specific sport or event. JAB can help you develop, periodise and implement your training plan to encourage peak performance at the optimal time or times.
JAB strength programs are based on the sophisticated and scientifically proven methods of Charles Poliquin, one of the world’s most sought after and results driven strength coaches.

  • POWER

Short, high-intensity, explosive movements require muscles to fire in correct sequence

Certain activities require explosive effort. Short, high-intensity, explosive movements require muscles to fire in correct sequence, at appropriate speed and with adequate force. This ability is trained in a unique way.
Plyometric principles are widely known to be one of the fastest methods of improving athletic power. However the methods used historically bring a large risk of injury. JAB has invested in customized plyometric machines, with the Super Cat and the reformer, designed to promote power transferable to sports specific movement whilst minimizing any risk of injury.

  • Body composition

JAB’s body composition programs are comprehensive, cutting edge and designed to achieve your specific goals.

Size matters, but bigger is not always better. The optimal power to weight ratio is important, as is the potential for direct transfer of the strength to sport specific performance and in injury prevention.

    Energy Systems Trainingsequence

There are three basic energy systems that the body uses to meet the demands of cardiovascular, strength, and endurance activities.
Different tasks require different means of energy production. Specialising in the task-specific system is the key to top athletic performance.
For those interested in developing and maintaining a solid fitness foundation across the spectrum on a year round basis, all energy systems should be developed and mutually supportive of each other.
